System Requirements
In order to run the Java edition, you must have the newest version of Java installed on your computer. If you are unsure whether or not Java is installed on your computer, you should go ahead and do an update. To do this, click this link to open the official Java website in a new browser tab. After the page is opened, click on the large red button that says 'Free Java Downlaod.' Download the Java installer and then launch it to update your system.
Installing the Software
- Click the download link shown above to begin downloading the compressed file containing the utility.
- After the file has been downloaded to your computer, open your 'Downloads' folder to locate it. The file is called 'foxpro-programmer.jar'.
- Open the 'foxpro-programmer.jar' file. Locate the 'FOXPRO Programmer.jar' file. This is the utility. This file can be copied into your local 'Applications' folder or placed on your desktop for easy access.
- You may receive an error message regarding 'cannot run software from an unknown developer' when you initially try to launch it. To get around this, go to Applications -> Privacy & Security and look for the warning message. Usually, there is an option to 'Open Anyway.'
